The TELL classification scheme is applicable to thermostatic radiator valves.

TELL classification criteria are as follows:

  • Influence of water temperature
  • Hysteresis
  • Response time
  • Influence of differential pressure

All manufacturers and distributors in the European Economic Area may use the classification system provided they recognise the regulations of the classification.

The right to use the energy efficiency labelling on thermostatic radiator valves can only be granted to products that fulfil the minimum requirements in line with EN 215.

The labelling and classification of a thermostatic radiator valve is performed on the basis of confirmation from an accredited testing laboratory in a relevant annex to a test report in accordance with EN 215.

The classification applies for the duration of the test report (max. four years).

Classified thermostatic radiator valves are incorporated into a classification directory at where they can be viewed by the public at large.

The detailed classification scheme can be downloaded under 'Downloads'.
